they didn't really give them really similar names but this anime was I think one of the first who got fans in non-japanese countries .. they don't change everybody's names today I think ...

Ive finally compiled all the evidence I could find of Daikari in 02!! Here we go (Note: Some of my own thoughts have been mixed up in there too ^^; ):

Ep 1 - "The one who inherits courage!"
Daisuke enters him room, and sees Hikari looking through her bag. He grins as he says,
"Im in the same class as Hikari-chan again!" Hikari turns around, and smiles as she says,
"I'll be counting on you again!" She sits down, as Daisuke begins saying,
"Just now, some guy said my goggles are cool! I didnt know who he was though..." Hikari then looks puzzled. Its actually quite cute, and the fact he refers to her as "Hikari-chan" indicates closeness ^_^
Then, when Takeru arrives, he sits next to Hikari and says,
"Its been awhile." and Hikari says,
"You've gotten taller." Daisuke looks outraged, and thinks, "What the heck is with him?! Why is he so familiar with Hikari-chan?!' Note: He dosent say "My girl" which shows he's not as "possessive" as the dub could sometimes make him out to be.. ¬_¬
Later, Daisuke runs over to Hikari and Takeru, who are talking, and says,
"Hey you!"
"His name isnt "You" its "Takeru-kun"." Hikari says,
"Takeru, what is your relationship with Hikari-chan?" Takeru looks puzzled, as does Hikari, and says,
"What's this all of a sudden?" He starts laughing, as Hikari sighs,
"Your funny Daisuke!" He says,
"Im not funny at all!" Daisuke says indignantly. Miyako interrupts them with the email. To be honest, Takeru looked just as happy to see Miyako as Hikari. MiyakoxTakeru? O.o
When Monochromon is about to attack Hikari, everyone says Daisuke needs to do something,
"Hikari-chan...!" he says, then stands up and yells, "I'll do it! Digimental up!" (Its not "Digi-armour energize!" ) Its interesting that its not V-mon that inspired him, or anyone else, its the fact that Hikari was in trouble that inspired his partners Digimental evolution. (Obviously V-mon told him what to say beforehand but still...) And he saves Hikari ^_^ (But we all know that.. )
Then, when Taichi gives Daisuke his goggles (After re-watching, I suddenly dont resent that so much anymore O.o Altho, I still wish Taichi wore his goggles >_< ) and he puts them on, Hikari says,
"They look great!" and Daisuke looks pleased,
"You think so?" he replies.

Ep 3 "Digimental up!" -
Hikari is uploading the picture, and she says,
"At any rate, I'll never forgive that guy for focusing attacks on weaker ones who cant evolve!" Daisuke looks determined, and punches his hand,
"Thats right! Im gonna give him a piece of my mind!" Then, Hikari turns to Takeru and says,
"Dont you think so, Takeru-kun?" It looked soo deliberate!! She cant have been being honest! I know she likes making him jealous.. xD And Daisuke looks at her, like O___O "What about me?!" XD Poor Daisuke, you'll REALLY impress her soon x3

Ep 7 - Hikari's memories
Just a note: When Patamon teases Daisuke (Which sets him off) Takeru says quite honestly, "Dont joke like that..." and Patamon giggles. He says "Joke" And Patamon knows it, and only wanted to set Daisuke off. I dont see PataTail I s'pose my main point is ^^;
"Daisuke-kun! Takeru-kun! You came!" Hikari says happily, when the two save her. Daisuke laughs,
"You hear that? She said "Daisuke-kun" first!"
"Good for you." Takeru says smiling (XDD That line has actually made me like Takeru a little more XDD) But its true, she did say his name first ^_~ xD

Ep 8 - The lonely Digimon Kaiser!
Hikari holds Chibimon for Daisuke at the soccer match x3
When Ken shows up, everyone is talking about him, 'cept Hikari, who calls "Daisuke-kun! Good luck~!" I know its not necessarily evidence, but it still seemed cute x3

Ep 13 - Dagomon's call
Oh goody...the "Takari" ep...too be honest, most of the romantic stuff was dub-invented...that and when Daisuke found out she was gone, he acted pretty damn unreasonable 'cuz he was so worried about her Now, I know what Takari fans will say "Why was Takeru acting so different? Why was he being all angsty?!" Think about it, he's always been assigned to protect Hikari, since the Adventure series. I think that responsibility still remains. I think he's like a preotective brother to Hikari, I mean, in the CD drama, she refers to him as a friend, and they were clearly not married in the future. Plus...they seem both pretty sweet people. Too similar. Which is why I think Daisuke would be better - he's alot more of a hot-headed character, it'd be fun to see their romantic interraction X3 And Daisuke shows pretty much just as much concern over Hikari. I mean, he's so determined <3>_<

Ep 31 - Sylphymon, the storm of love!
After Tailmon tells them about the holy ring incident, Daisuke says,
"Alright! Lets all look for it!"
"Daisuke-kun!" Hikari says happily,
"Stop trying to score points with Hikari-san." Iori whispers,
"You're so predictable Daisuke." Miyako whispers. Daisuke blushes,
"Well sorry!" He shouts, embarrassed. V-mon then nudges him, grinning,
"Dont give up, Daisuke." Daisuke grabs V-mon,
"V-mon!" He shouts, blushing. Hikari laughs. (V-mon is right Daisuke~ XD)

Ep 32 - Mysterious ruins, holy stone.
Hikari calls Daisuke first, then Ken. (They can jogress evolve...but she doesnt call Miyako..) and nor does she call anyone else. XD

Ep 39 - All Chosen children in action! Imperialdramon!
When Daisuke says he wants to go to help Ken, Hikari says "Daisuke-kun..." sort of sadly.

Ep 44 - The gate of darkness
When Daisuke says his speech on how Ken shouldnt give up (Whilst he was opening the gate to the Dark Ocean); Hikari looks up and smiles, 'Warmth...is this Daisuke-kun's heart?' she thinks. ^_^ And people say Daisuke isnt mature at all - thats the whole point! He grows up as the series continues! Jeez ¬_¬

Ep 47 - Blackwargreymon vs Wargreymon
When everyone is trying to contact the children who were kidnapped, we see Daisuke, Hikari and Ken having a door slammed in their faces. Daisuke turns around, embarrassed,
"Sorry, my explanation wasnt good. I made him mad."
"It's not your fau-" Hikari begins. Tailmon then interrupts her, "We all understand." she says. Daisuke then says to try the next person, enthusiastically.
When Hikari calls everyone, she says her thanks, then asks when Daisuke is. ^-^

Movies -
Hurricane Touchdown -
Altho the line where Hikari says "Partly to visit Mimi, and partly to make Davis jealous." wasnt originally there, when Mimi uploads the pictures, Takeru remarks,
"Daisuke-kun will definitely get jealous when he sees these pictures."
"Just watch yourself." Says Mimi XD
WHen Takeru and Hikari arrive to "save the day" (XD) Hikari waves and calls,
"Daisuke-kun!" A grin spreads across Daisuke's face as he waves and calls back,
"Hikari-chan!"
Ok, the scene where Wallace kisses Hikari and Miyako...
"What do you think you're doing?!" Daisuke yells as Wallace runs off,
"Someones a little jealous." Miyako remarks,
"I wonder if he'll go to Japan.." Hikari ponders,
"I wont let him near Hikari-chan." Daisuke says XD

Um, yeah, Ive got more, but its mostly Daisuke's side. I know they dont seem that strong, but its all up to interpretation really ^^ XD Enjoy~

good job! D I don't remember that stuff from 31, 32 and 39th episode o: but it's cute <3> Kari wasn't always just with TK, she opened herself to Yolei first and that could maybe change her relationship to Davis too!!

I agree! She opened herself up to Miyako the most...Takeru is most like a protective big brother, as far as Im concerned XD And she clearly shows that she worries for Daisuke (Much more then the stupid dub >_< )

yeah, she really does care for him a lot more then in dub (well, she doesn't do it at all there xD) ...... this Takari marriage is just a proof that there has to be sth that stopped the producers from doing it .. Davis maybe? :3
